According to the Chancellor, the vision is anchored on positioning AUCB to produce graduates equipped with the knowledge, practical skills, values and experience required to make meaningful contributions to Ghana’s development while competing effectively in an increasingly technology-driven global economy.
“AUCB must remain relevant to the needs of industry and society while preparing our graduates for the opportunities and challenges of the future,” the Chancellor noted.
His vision places particular emphasis on strengthening the relationship between academic learning and industry practice, harnessing technology to enhance teaching and learning, nurturing ethical and responsible leadership, and building a strong global network of AUCB alumni.
The investiture ceremony matched the deep significance of the event. The atmosphere was as celebratory as it was colourful. The campus courtyard was transformed appropriately into a befitting traditional swearing-in venue. The founder, Hon. Kojo Yankah; Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abeku Blankson; Chair of Governing Council, Prof. Pashington Obeng; members of faculty, traditional leaders and staff who were present were adorned in beautiful African clothes as the celebrant raised a sword of office to symbolize his new role as Chancellor.

He previously served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of CAL Bank PLC, where he provided leadership during a period of significant growth and innovation. As Chancellor, Mr. Adu Jnr. is expected to provide strategic leadership and support the University’s mission of developing ethical, innovative and forward-thinking graduates equipped to make an impact in Ghana and beyond.
About AUCB
The African University of Communications and Business (AUCB) is a chartered university offering undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma and professional development programmes in communications, business and related fields.
The institution was established in 2002 as the Africa Institute of Journalism and Communications (AIJC) by Hon. Kojo Yankah. Initially offering a Diploma in Communication Studies, the institution obtained accreditation as a tertiary institution in 2004.
In 2007, AIJC received approval to offer Bachelor of Arts degrees and subsequently became the African University College of Communications (AUCC), recognised as the first university college in Africa specialising in Journalism and Communication Studies.
Over the years, the AUCB has expanded its academic offerings to include Bachelor of Science programmes in Business Administration, as well as postgraduate programmes in communications and business administration. In December 2024, AUCB was granted a Presidential Charter, giving the institution the autonomy to operate as a fully-fledged university and award its own degrees.
To further strengthen learning, research and professional development, AUCB has established the Kwabena Nketia Centre for Africana Studies, the Ama Ata Aidoo Centre for Creative Writing, and the Business and Professional Development Centre.
